Hey there,
If you follow me on Instagram or are signed up to my premium newsletter, you might already know this last week has been a challenging one for me!
Story time: when I became a citizen on May 9th, I unknowingly made it illegal for me to leave the country without a US passport. Processing times are currently 11 weeks, but I’m traveling to England to be a bridesmaid in my childhood best friend’s wedding in a few weeks. No matter: if you need a passport within 2 weeks, you can call an agency to get an urgent appointment!
Then Noah was taken into hospital, we had to delay the trip, and when the 2 week mark came and I called for an urgent passport appointment, I was told the nearest was in Minneapolis: nearly 1200 miles from where I live in Virginia.
So that’s where I’m writing from…! May was a ridiculously trying month. I’m hoping with every fibre of my being that I will be able to make it to England in time, that I won’t have to let down my best friend or waste all that time and money. I also hope that, once this trip is over, I can sleep for a month and recover…!
Reflection
Weekly prompts to encourage self-reflection and help you discover impactful things about yourself, your art and your career.
When thinking of our goals and how we might achieve them, we often overlook the powerful and boring truth: that progress doesn’t happen in enormous displays of incredible achievement, but in small, consistent, underwhelming actions. With that in mind:
What is the smallest, easiest step you could take right now towards your current goals?
